My name is Jen, I am 30 years old and a stay at home mom to 3 kids (ages 8, 6, 3). My weight has been an issue the past few years. In 2007, I lost a significant amount of weight (50lbs) and then found out I was pregnant with my youngest. After he was done breastfeeding (early ’09), I started trying to lose weight, but really wasn’t as into it as I was before and pretty much maintained my weight for the rest of the year. In 2010, I decided it was time to get serious and about a month into really focusing again, my world was shattered and changed forever.
On April 13, 2010, my Dad was hit and killed instantly when a semi truck lost control of his truck and hit my dad’s SUV head on. To say I was devastated is an understatement. He was a huge part of my life and I miss him every single day. This is a post I wrote 2 weeks after the accident. It’s very raw emotions coming out.
It’s been almost a year now and I am finally feeling like I’m beginning to heal from the emotional trauma I went through.
